Missions Committee
The Missions Committee seeks to glorify the Word of the Lord by providing assistance to others in Branford and New Haven, the nation, and the world. The committee uses the guidelines of the Episcopal Relief and Development in their distribution of funds. The committee meets the first Sunday of every month after the 10:00 A.M. worship service. Dates and times may change. Trinity is blessed with a group of dedicated and tireless people who, working in various ministries, are able to feed, clothe, and comfort those less fortunate and those in need. The Missions Committee coordinates many opportunities to serve God and volunteers are always gratefully welcomed.

Meetings are held the 1st Thursday of the month in the Guild room at 6:30 pm. Dates and Times may change based on the Church Calendar and room availability. For more information email Steve Sharma.

Some of our current ministries include:

Columbus House Homeless Shelter New Haven

At Columbus House men and women are provided with temporary housing that includes food, showers, clean clothing and laundry facilities.

The second Saturday of each month, we, Trinity, are responsible for providing breakfast to those in need through the Columbus House program in New Haven.

Traditionally we had provided a dinner meal of beef stew, noodles, salad and cake. In order to provide this meal we rely on the generosity of our congregation to donate large cans of Dinty Moore beef stew.

Please consider picking up a can or two each week and dropping them in the basket in the back of the church. Thank you for your support of this mission work!

Domestic Violance Services of Greater New Haven (DVSGNH)
Trinity is collecting various items needed to help support Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven. When you go shopping please keep the women and children served by Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven in mind and pick up a few items to contribute.

Life Haven
Missions Committee is collecting used, but clean kitchen items including pots, pans, dishware, utensils etc. These are being collected as an ongoing project for Life Haven, a shelter for homeless women and their children. As the women gain independence and find affordable housing, they are often in need of kitchen items. A plastic bin will be at the back of the church for items. This is an ongoing ministry.

Branford Food Council
For more than 25 years Trinity has contributed food item donations, delivered monthly to this local organization. The Branford Food Council distributes food to between 90 and 120 familes. Please consider donating some of these food items to be given to the Council.

Habitat for Humanity
We are blessed to participate in Covenant Build Projects in New Haaven where volunteers assist in restoring buildings in need. We committed our funds, time and talent along with many other churches' volunteers.

Tagless Tag Sale
The Tagless Tag Sale where we invite needy folks from our community to shop for FREE was a great success thanks to the generous donations of time, treasure and talent of both Trinity folk and friends of Trinity from the community at large. Our “shoppers” were excited and most grateful both for the chance to find needed items and for the caring help from volunteers who acted as “personal shoppers.” Over 150 people and their families were helped with warm blankets, hats, mittens, soap, toiletries, towels, etc. This was a very good thing! Let’s do it again in the Spring!

White Envelope Program
Take a bundle of envelopes which includes one envelope for each month of the year. Tuck your loose change into the envelope and put it in the collection plate once a month.

Small Change CAN make a DIFFERENCE in people's lives!!!

The money collected goes to the Diocese of Connecticut's Episcopal Churchwomen's White Envelope program that awards grants by sharing the distribution between two different projects each year, One with-in The Diocese of Connecticut and one out-side the Diocese.

Cookie Walk
The entire congregation is involved in contributing their gourmet cookies to raise money. The youth group has coordinated and raised funds for this project we sponsor.

St Paul's Loaves & Fishes
Assisting St. Paul's & St. James Church, New Haven, our volunteers assist in packing over 150 bags of groceries to distribute every Saturday morning, 8:30 am.

Heifer Project International
With the Sunday School Children, we assist recipients to become self-supporting by purchasing farm animals for a world wide project annually.

International Supper
Each year the Missions Committee sponsors an International Supper to raise money used to support various missions work throughout the world. Check back for details about this year's program.

Angel Tree Project and Camp
During Advent Season, prisoners request gifts for their children. These are purchased by church members from a selection of an Angel Ornament fouund on a tree displayed during Sunday services coffee hour. Our "Ministers of Gift Deliveries" hand-deliver these gifts before Christmas.

We also sponsor many children at the Angel Tree Camp.
