The Christmas Season and Epiphany

Season of Advent | The Christmas Season and Epiphany | Lent and Easter| Season of Pentecost | All Saints Day

The Christmas Season—is twelve days long! Christmas begins December 25th, Christmas Day but lasts through January6th. Christmas Christmas Altarcelebrates the birth of Jesus.  January 6th is known as Epiphany.  The word means “to show” or “to make known."  Epiphany remembers the coming of the wise men—The Three Kings—bringing gifts to visit the Christ child, who by so doing "reveal" Jesus to the world as Lord and King. The colors of Christmas and Epiphany are white and gold, the colors of celebration and newness. Epiphany is also a season of the Church lasting until Ash Wednesday. The Epiphany season is when we focus on Mission; bringing the light of Christ to the world.
